Question. Can I send a fax or e-mail when Shabbat is not for me but for the recipient is Shabbat?
Response. The prohibition of sending a fax or e-mail depends on the location of the melakhah does and not by the place of destination of such activity. Therefore, it is allowed to send a fax or e-mail from a place where there is no Sabbath in a place where it is Shabbat. For example it is allowed to send a fax or e-mail Friday afternoon from the United States in Italy when Italy is already in Shabbat. The same applies if you want to send a fax after Shabbat from Italy when the U.S. is still Shabbat. (For calls see link )
